Microsoft seems to tell us that Orcas (the next version of Visual Studio) will ship in 2007. At least they are announcing 2 betas for 2007. See more details at http://msdn2.microsoft.com/de-de/teamsystem/bb407307.aspx. I wouldn't bet on this yet!
