There are no mistakes in what you just read. The first CTP (Community Technology Preview) of the next version of Visual Studio, which is Visual Studio 2010 that will run on the .Net Framework 4.0 is publicly available for download.

I really like the idea that this CTP is only available as a Virtual PC image. This will stop many people from installing it directly on their “production” PC.
