Book review: Professional Crystal Reports for Visual Studio .Net

I just finished reading « Professional Crystal Reports for Visual Studio .Net, 2nd edition » by David McAmis (ISBN 0-7645-5730-9).

This book is good at covering the version of Crystal Reports that comes bundled with Visual Studio (not the professional edition you can buy). It is also about the version that was bundled with Visual Studio .Net 2003. Because there are no major changes between the versions bundled with 2003 compared to 2005, it is not a waste of time reading it. You may just want to skip the chapter on distribution.

This book is pretty basic covering how to bind a report (Windows-based or Web-based) to a data source. You won’t find advanced formatting or features in it. Most examples are in VB.Net.
